Lake Panorama National Golf Course

Lake Panorama National Golf Course offers one of the best-conditioned courses in Iowa. Open to the public, the course also offers seasonal golf passes, stay-and-play golf packages and corporate golf outings.

Iowa Section PGA and Iowa Golf Association tournaments are held at the course each year, a testament to the course's quality. The par-72 course, designed in 1971 by Richard Watson, offers 18 holes with a variety of yardages.

There are five ponds that impact seven holes. The course contour is fairly flat on the front side and rolling on the back. The two sides complement each other, making all 18 holes an extraordinary experience.

The golf course also has a driving range, pitching/chipping area, and putting green that can be used by guests of the Resort. Driving range balls may be purchased in the pro shop.

Tee Times can be made online up to 14 days in advance or by calling (641) 755-2024.

Panorama West Golf Course

The Panorama West golf course is located on the west side of Lake Panorama, north of Highway 44 and east of Redwood Avenue. Play on the course is first-come, first-served, except on weekends and holidays when tee times are recommended. A limited number of rental golf carts are available during the season.

Each hole is a par-3, with the option to play from par-4 tees on five holes. Total yardage from the par-3 tee boxes is 1,378 yards. Players hitting from the five par-4 tee boxes, plus the par-3 tee boxes on the other four holes, face 1,749 yards.

Tee Times can be made by calling (641) 755-2250.

Beaches

Lake Panorama’s main beach, Boulder Beach, is just a short walk from your unit. This beach has sand volleyball, sports courts and a playground.

Two other beaches are located on the west side of Lake Panorama. Shady Beach and Sunset Beach also have sand volleyball and playgrounds.

All beaches have boat docks, picnic shelters, and permanent restrooms.

Swimming is allowed during posted hours and only within the roped in areas. No lifeguards are on duty.

South Shore Recreation Area - Disc Golf & Hiking

A driveway begins at 5501 Chimra Road and leads to a parking lot that provides walk-through access to the recreation area. Near the parking lot, there is a small shelter equipped with a picnic table. Beyond the shelter, two markers are present: one points towards the first hole of the golf course, while the other points to the trail system.

The nine-hole disc golf course features various distances and terrains. Tee signs with details about each hole are located near the tee boxes, and equipment may be borrowed from the guest services desk during office hours.

For the trails, several sections have been combined into a single system offering a range of lengths and difficulty levels. Walking the full loop down to the shoreline and back through the meadow area will cover two miles, with over one mile along the Lake Panorama shoreline. Four other options are available for shorter distances. Trail markers indicate each junction within the trail system.

Panorama West Nature Trail

Parking is in a cul-de-sac at the end of Nicholl Drive, which intersects with Panorama Road south of the Panorama West clubhouse. Users are encouraged to snap a photo of the trailhead sign near the parking area to help them navigate the trail. At the three-quarters-mile mark, there is an optional three-quarters of a mile loop. Those who use the official trail, plus the optional loop, will complete 2.25 miles. The trail winds through grassy open areas and timber.

Boating

Lake Panorama does not offer any boat rentals. Townhome guests may purchase a temporary boating permit for Lake Panorama during your stay.
